Indigenous Peoples have used the Medicine Wheel as a life guide since time immemorial. This September 24th at the New West Farmers Market, ahead of Truth and Reconcilliation Day, Lorelei, an Indigenous educator with 2MetisWomen and knowledge carrier for the North Fraser Métis Association will guide participants through the creation of their own Medicine Wheel to take home, while learning some traditional Indigenous teachings through the core concepts of this important life guide.

The wheel is often used as a tool for learning, contemplating, and understanding one's personal journey towards holistic wellbeing and balancing the Physical, Mental, Social, Spiritual self. Lorelei will lead you examining each quadrant, where the strengths are and where some goal setting could be implemented.

Did you know it's BC Farmers' Market Appreciation Did you know it's BC Farmers' Market Appreciation Week? From September 12th to 19th, farmers markets all across BC are celebrating everything that we love about the work we do.

Every Thursday, local farmers, food producers, bakers, artisans, musicians, volunteers, and shoppers gather to create a vibrant gathering space in Tipperary Park. Through supporting local livelihoods and keeping our regional food systems thriving, our goal is always to create a community space that strengthens connections.

Supporting local means investing directly in the people who grow our food, care for our land, and create and share openly with the New West community. It means shorter food miles, a stronger local economy, a more connected community, and a more resilient food system for everyone.

We're incredibly grateful for all the vendors, partners, volunteers, and market-goers who make the NWFM a welcoming place to gather and connect, all while celebrating local fresh food every week.

Thank you for choosing local, supporting BC farms and local small businesses, and being part of the NWFM community! 💚💜
